As the first construction project in Denmark, a purification facility at the tunnel factory in Rødbyhavn ensures that all water after the casting of elements for the Fehmarn Belt Tunnel is recycled as washing water, including for the casting molds.

Femern A/S states in a press release that water is needed for casting the massive tunnel elements for the 18-kilometer-long Fehmarn Belt Tunnel between Denmark and Germany. Water is used both for the concrete itself and for cleaning the casting molds, preparing them for the next casting.
