Minister: Accepts more negative CO2 impact from Femern than expected

Transport Minister Thomas Danielsen (V) accepts that the Femern project will impact Denmark's climate account more than expected

It is acceptable that the Femern Link affects the Danish CO2 balance 'slightly more negatively' than initially expected.

That's the statement from Transport Minister Thomas Danielsen (V) in response to Stinus Lindgren, the transport spokesperson for the Radical Left party.

The background is a report from Kraka, which showed that the Femern connection, at best, will be climate-neutral after 34 years, not 10 years, as an analysis from 2013 estimated. In the worst case, it could take up to 181 years, according to the think tank where director Peter Mogensen referred to the connection as "completely outdated and thoroughly obsolete."
