II.2.4) Description of the procurement:

Aarhus ReWater will become the world’s most efficient resource facility in 2027. The vision is clear and ambitions high when it comes to sustainability and innovation. With the new Aarhus ReWater wastewater treatment plant Aarhus Water and the municipality of Aarhus aim to restructure the collected wastewater treatment in Aarhus to meet future requirements and solving some of Denmark’s major challenges: How to make room for continued growth in Aarhus while observing the demand for CO2 neutrality and taking on a greener approach.

“Aarhus Rewater will receive the city’s wastewater and transform it into new materials, new products and new energy for the next 50 years at least. We are already experiencing return on wastewater in the shape of heating, biogas, electricity and fertilizer. In the future, it will also be possible to produce proteins and perhaps even ingredients for the pharmaceutical industry from wastewater. In the long term, it is all about keeping an open mind”.

With a location in the center of the city close to the citizens and the sea Aarhus ReWater also wishes to be part of the local community, share knowledge and create growth and export. Incorporating the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals as a natural part of the development, realization and operation of Aarhus ReWater, Aarhus Vand takes on a binding commitment not only to the local community but also to the global community.

Aarhus Water invites all interested both Danish and foreign consultants, contractors and architects to a preliminary meeting and presentation of the upcoming tender for Aarhus ReWater wastewater treatment plant on 9 may 2019, from 13:00-15:00 p.m.
